You posted something on Metafiler recently and I would like to respond, but since I don't have an account, or a paypal account with 5 bucks in it, I am forced to mar your blog with a comment. I apologize if this never gets to the flapjax at midnite poster on metafilter, and please delete this once it does.

I think any fan of classical music would have to disagree. A large majority of "classic", stand the test of time, famous as famous can be, composers were Christians. And I think it is ridiculous to continue perpetuating intolerance against Christians on the internet and in the real world. I apologize for those Christians that have made bad music, that have been hypocrites, liars, harmful, and oppressive towards you, and I just ask that you would at some point really consider objectively whether Christianity deserves to repeatedly get picked on, while other worldviews go unattacked.
john, I suppose that you're not a regular at MetaFilter, so you'd really have no way of knowing, but my comment there was a JOKE. A 100% joke. As a part of the MetaFilter community, I posted that comment in the full knowledge that almost anyone reading it would be aware that it is not to be taken at face value. Had there been (or should there be) anyone at MeFi who took my comment as straight-faced and unironic, assumed, (as you have) that it's NOT a joke, then I would've (and will) respond to, uh, clue them in. The preposterousness of the statement, however, will be enough for most people there to understand right away that it was intended as a joke. In closing, let me say that some of my favorite musicians have been Christians! The Staple Singers, for example, come to mind right away.
